EXCLUSIVE USE BOOKINGS

Wanaka Homestead provides luxury accommodation for up to 21 people in three new award winning buildings. When booked exclusively, the ten bedrooms and bathrooms, three guest lounges, two guest kitchens, gardens, patio and facilities become yours. Enquiries are welcomed for "Luxury villa" accommodation, small weddings and conferences. Under certain circumstances lodge only bookings and function only bookings are also possible.


WEDDINGS

Wanaka Homestead is a great base to spend quality time with your nearest and dearest, and can double as a stylish small wedding venue. Although Wanaka is spoilt for stunning wedding locations, at the top of the "in town" list is Wanaka Station Park. Overlooked by Wanaka Homestead, sheltered from wind, and fringing the lakeshore, this majestic reserve is a wedding photographer’s dream and symbiotic wedding partner with our accommodation and facilities. Just one kilometre away, picture perfect Rippon Vineyard is a classy alternative venue. For an authentic rural option, the woolshed at Glendhu Station has mature gardens and stunning mountain scenery. 

As an accommodation base, Wanaka Homestead can comfortably sleep up to 21 people in king, super-king or twin beds, with the option of a further 6 occasional-use beds and 3 cots. Imagine a buffet or sit down meal prepared by external caterers, games in the courtyard, a post wedding family breakfast, a huge outdoor log fire and a barbecue, or watching shooting stars with 10 of your best friends from the huge outside hot tub. For the bride and groom, the master room has a California King bed, fresh cut flowers, fine linen and en-suite double shower and basins. Your stay couldn’t be more comfortable.

The Homestead lounge is the focal point for catered functions, presentations and speeches, with French doors inter-connecting to the grass courtyard, paved patio and barbecue areas. At 8x5 metres, the lounge is large enough for sit down breakfasts for 18, buffet breakfasts and catered sit down dinners for up to 24, or as a hub for catered daytime or evening al fresco buffet dinners for up to 60 people. For functions you are equally welcome to self-cater from the cottage kitchens, or employ the services of several excellent catering companies.

CONFERENCES, COURSES & BUSINESS FACILITIES

Wanaka Homestead has writing desks and telephones in every room, broadband Internet access, and a lounge with wonderful ambience and 42" plasma screen with PC input: perfect for presentations and discussion groups for up to 20 people. The ten bedroom complex can also provide great accommodation for business development groups and courses, and our proximity to the lake, park and town make Wanaka Homestead a perfect base for a variety of other activities. We are delighted to offer the services of top quality guest chefs, an in-house fly fishing guide, and organise or book a whole range of amazing activities. This type of exclusive-use booking is suited to either the five bedroom Homestead lodge only, or the whole ten bedroom complex. In less busy seasons, other possibilities arise too. Please ask for details of special group activity weeks and photography, painting and other arts courses.


HOMESTEAD LODGE ONLY

The gorgeous five bedroom Homestead lodge normally operates as a luxury bed and breakfast for couples and singles looking for ski lodge accommodation, or a fun or romantic getaway. Private host accommodation and an office / reception is also located within the lodge. By booking all five rooms on an exclusive basis, the Homestead becomes much more private and opens itself up to families with children. The Homestead lounge will be exclusively yours too, with comfortable sofas, great dining facilities, and top quality hi-fi, DVD, plasma screen and Sky. While your party will have private use of the lodge itself, certain other facilities will be shared with cottage guests and the host accommodation will remain privately occupied. Unfortunately we cannot offer guest cooking facilities in the lodge, unless expressly agreed in advance, but we can include optional breakfast or arrange for a top quality guest chef by evening. For absolute privacy and exclusivity, it may be cheaper than you imagine to rent the entire complex.


FUNCTION ONLY. LOW SEASON EXCLUSIVE BOOKINGS.

Functions without accommodation are not normally a cost effective solution, as our ability to provide accommodation at normal rates is lost. However, we will happily quote. At quieter times of year, such as mid April-May-June it is often possible to make exceptions, such as functions only, or exclusive bookings for fewer rooms, at a proportionately reduced rate.

Functions or additional guests - by prior arrangement only - please ask for a quote. Normally there is no additional cost for conferences and courses, and a function fee for other events in proportion to genuine costs incurred.

Extended stays Guests who wish to stay beyond the period of exclusive use are welcome to do so. Normal conditions, rates and any advertised "special deals" will then apply.

Minimum stay (nights) 1 Mar to 24 Jun (1); Ski season (5); 19 Dec - 31 Jan (3); 2 nights at all other times. Exceptions are often possible between other bookings - please contact us.


Conditions and Limitations Wanaka Homestead is primarily a small, high quality and highly seasonal accommodation business in a residential area. Regrettably this results in a few limitations regarding maximum numbers, noise and minimum duration stays. Evening dancing and loud music is unfortunately not an option. The host flat (including the Homestead kitchen) remains a private area unless agreed in advance, but the kitchen can usually be made available to outside caterers if agreed in advance. Please note we do not act as "wedding co-ordinators" but will willingly help you make informed choices. Our quotes are based on our normal staffing levels, so please agree in advance any additional requirements.
